Conscious Couple Time
It can be extremely difficult sometimes to find time to connect with your partner during the week when you factor in work, children, pets, working out, and other responsibilities. Most couples try their best to carve out time during the weekend to get in a good quality date night to make up for the week. I think that is a great idea! Dates are a must in continuing to grow together and build a relationship.
I have found that couples can strengthen their relationship even further when they find ways to sprinkle in some couple time throughout the week. This typically does not look like carving out a large chunk of time like they could during the weekend. So, what else would this time look like you say? I call it finding conscious couple time. This can be as short as two minutes daily! YES, you read right…JUST TWO MINUTES.
One way you can do this is: before going to sleep hold each other’s hand, take a deep breath together, and take turns saying one quality you appreciate about each other. The purpose of conscious couple time is to truly share those moments with each other instead of multitasking and trying to fit in some time together.
I encourage you and your partner to find what this time would look like in your relationship. The example I gave above may not fit for you, but that does not mean you can’t find different ways to be conscious with each other. Happy conscious couple time to you all!
